JD Vance: Woke culture is attacking masculinity and creating androgynous idiots in youth

During a recent event at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Maryland, Vice President J.D. Vance shared his views on the current cultural landscape and its impact on masculinity.

Vance expressed concerns that American culture is increasingly undermining traditional masculinity, claiming it leads to the emergence of “androgynous idiots.”

In an interview with conservative activist Mercedes Schlapp at the conference, he addressed questions regarding the messages young men receive from society.

Vance stated, “Our culture sends a message to young men that you should suppress every masculine urge.”

He urged young men not to let societal pressures make them feel guilty for their masculinity.

“My message to young men is, don’t allow this broken culture to send you a message that you’re a bad person because you’re a man,” he said, reinforcing the importance of expressing genuine interests like humor and competition.

Vance criticized what he sees as a societal trend to mold individuals into uniformity, suggesting that society tries to make everyone, regardless of gender, conform to the same ideals.

He passionately articulated that differences between men and women are intentional and significant, saying, “We actually think God made male and female for a purpose.”

As the conversation shifted to other topics, Vance reflected on his recent remarks at the Munich Security Conference about free speech in Europe.

He reiterated his belief that the true danger facing Europe lies in the influx of unvetted migrants, emphasizing the need to control borders to ensure stability.

“We cannot rebuild Western civilization… by letting millions and millions of unvetted illegal migrants come into our country,” Vance asserted firmly.

Vance connected the dots between border control and free speech, indicating that open dialogue is essential for populations to address pressing issues without fear of censorship.

He took aim at former President Biden, alleging the administration has been detrimental to free speech rights both in the U.S. and overseas.

Expanding on this, Vance criticized European governments for mirroring Biden’s approach to censorship and immigration, suggesting a need to realign with values he attributes to Donald Trump, like sovereignty and protected speech.

Discussing the nature of international relationships, Vance pointed out that true friendships between nations should be built on shared values, which, according to him, are under threat when dissent is stifled.

“You do not have shared values if you’re jailing people for saying ‘we should close down our border,’” Vance noted.

His interview also tackled pressing domestic issues, such as revitalizing the economy, promoting pro-life initiatives, and encouraging political engagement among young people while underscoring the need for robust border security.

Vance’s remarks kicked off the CPAC, highlighting the blend of traditional values and contemporary political challenges being discussed by attendees.
