Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett let the cat out of the bag, admitting she landed her first gig as a public defender by playing the race card.
During a House hearing, the Texas congresswoman recounted telling her would-be boss flat out, “You should hire me.” When asked why, given her lack of criminal defense experience, she didn’t miss a beat: “Because I’m Black.” Crockett argued her race would help her connect with certain clients better than her colleagues could. And guess what? She got the job.
Jasmine Crockett brags about being a DEI hire:

The jaw-dropping admission quickly lit up social media, with critics pouncing. “INCREDIBLE,” blasted the Libs of TikTok account. “Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett publicly admits that she only got her job as a public defender because she was Black. Crockett is a DEI hire, CONFIRMED.”
Unfazed, Crockett doubled down, defending diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) hires in the justice system. She argued crime victims need cops who “look like me” to ensure fair investigations, taking a swipe at critics who rail against DEI.
Some saw her comments as bragging about leveraging race, while others claimed it was just an honest take on the need for diversity. You decide.
