Another Big Tech bombshell just dropped on Capitol Hill. A former top Facebook executive testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee, accusing her old bosses at Meta of selling out America by cozying up to Communist China.
Sarah Wynn-Williams, who ran Facebook’s global public policy shop from 2011 to 2017, didn’t mince words. She claimed the tech giant, now known as Meta, secretly passed sensitive info about U.S. artificial intelligence projects to Beijing officials. Even worse, she alleged Facebook caved to pressure from China and deleted the account of a Chinese dissident.
Sen. @HawleyMO: "Did Facebook actually brief members of the CCP on Artificial Intelligence to your knowledge?"
Sarah Williams: "Yes Senator." pic.twitter.com/D88c9D5cqd

Naturally, Meta is denying everything. A spokesperson dismissed Wynn-Williams’ explosive claims as totally false, pointing out that Facebook doesn’t even operate its services inside China. Right.
Wynn-Williams’ testimony adds fuel to the fire as senators dig into just how deep foreign influence runs within America’s powerful tech companies. The Judiciary Committee is investigating the alarming ties between these platforms and foreign regimes, focusing on data sharing and content manipulation.
These aren’t just abstract concerns; they strike at the heart of U.S. national security. The probe aims to figure out how much danger we’re in thanks to these global tech operations and what needs to change.
The investigation is ongoing, with lawmakers still gathering evidence. But Wynn-Williams’ allegations paint a disturbing picture of a major American company potentially putting profits and access ahead of national security and free speech. Stay tuned.
