‘We Don’t Do Prayer’ CA Mayor Silences Mom on School Secret

A California mom trying to address a city council about her daughter being “socially transitioned” at school without her knowledge was shut down mid-prayer by the mayor.

Terrence Swain stepped up to the podium during a Ventura County meeting last month, seeking answers about her underage daughter’s situation. She began her public comment by looking heavenward, saying, “I want to lift up my father in Heaven,” and started praying in Jesus’ name.

But Mayor Jeannette Sanchez-Palacios quickly cut her off. “We don’t do prayer,” the mayor declared, interrupting Swain.

Swain tried to continue, but Sanchez-Palacios wasn’t having it, repeatedly telling her to wrap it up. The confrontation escalated until the mayor demanded Swain stop talking altogether and leave the meeting.

The shocking moment, captured on video, highlights a growing battle over parental rights in schools and the place of faith in the public square. Swain simply wanted to speak her mind and start with a prayer, only to be silenced by officials.

Fire that mayor immediately who does she think she is we pay her outrageous salaries and she talks to parents like they are children. She needs to be removed immediately and fired direct abuse towards the people who give her a job. She needs to be recalled and impeached immediately we will not tolerate people who don’t like what people have to say. These government employees need to understand who pays their salaries and benefits and start listening to the people we don’t need self serving mind set people in charge of nothing. Your job is to listen not dictate and disrespect others.

I am a Christian and I think it inappropriate that that mother chose to validate her position with sanctimonious prayer. It was totally uneccesary. Jesus was no fan of people praying to be seen by others. He pretty much condemned one man for his sanctimonious, boastful praying in public. I wonder if she is familiar with the gospels.
