A Texas father grieving the senseless stabbing death of his teenage son faced further heartache when he was booted from a press conference held by the alleged killer’s family.
Jeff Metcalf’s 17-year-old son, Austin, was fatally stabbed during a high school track meet in Frisco on April 2, allegedly by fellow student Karmelo Anthony, 17, following a dispute over seats. Jeff was right there, desperately trying to save his boy.
Insanity. Dominique Alexander, who represents Karmelo Anthony, just attacked Austin Metcalf's father Jeff for attending a press conference held by the Anthony family, calling his presence “a disrespect to the dignity of his son."

Fast forward to April 17: Anthony, charged with murder but out after his $1 million bond was slashed to $250k, had his family hold a presser with their lawyer, Dominic Alexander. When Jeff Metcalf showed up, wanting answers or perhaps just to face the family of the boy accused of killing his son, police were called to escort him out.
Alexander, representing the Anthony family, outrageously called the heartbroken father’s presence “a disrespect” and accused him of trying to get near the family despite a no-contact order. This, while the Anthony family complained about facing “hateful attacks.”
Karmelo Anthony, meanwhile, has been expelled from school but benefits from reduced bond conditions including home confinement and an ankle monitor.
Through the unimaginable pain, Jeff Metcalf has urged people not to twist the tragedy into something it’s not. “This was not a race thing,” he stated firmly. “This was not a political thing. [Karmelo] made a bad choice and affected both his family and my family—forever.”
The grieving father, now focusing on his surviving twin son, Hunter, just wants to prevent another family from experiencing this nightmare, calling for better safety at school events while navigating an impossible loss.
